Senior Engineering Manager (Staff-Level) | Boston (4 days onsite) Our client is building an AI-powered platform transforming how local service businesses get discovered, trusted, and booked. They’re at a true inflection point with strong product-market fit, rapid growth, and the backing to scale in a big way. They’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager (Staff-level) to play a critical role in shaping technical direction while staying close to the code. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll build, mentor, and drive impact across a fast-growing engineering team. What You’ll Do Design and build scalable systems that power a rapidly growing platform Stay hands-on in the code while leading technical initiatives across teams Mentor and develop engineers, helping level up the overall team Partner closely with product and leadership to drive technical strategy and execution Improve system architecture, performance, and reliability as the platform scales Help shape engineering best practices and processes across pods What We’re Looking For 8–10+ years of experience building and scaling web applications Strong experience with Python and Django (or Django REST Framework) in production Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript Experience with AWS (Fargate, S3, ECR) and modern CI/CD pipelines Strong database experience (PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.) Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers Comfortable operating as a player-coach (hands-on + leadership) Bonus: exposure to AI/ML tools, OpenAI APIs, or agentic workflows What’s in It for You Competitive compensation High-impact role at a company with real momentum and strong backing Opportunity to step into a staff-level leadership role with ownership and influence Collaborative, high-energy team that values building and shipping
