Senior Analyst, International Logistics & Transportation Sr. Analyst The International Logistics & Transportation Sr. Analyst is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Serena & Lily's international freight operations, ensuring the seamless movement of goods from overseas suppliers through U.S. ports of entry and onward to distribution centers and customers. This role serves as a key operational link between global suppliers, freight partners, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders — driving cost efficiency, service reliability, and trade compliance across all international transportation lanes. RESPONSIBILTIES: International Freight Management Support end-to-end international freight operations including ocean FCL/LCL shipments, air freight, and dray management across all origin countries to S&L’s distribution center in Savannah, GA. Monitor shipment milestones from origin purchase order through final delivery, proactively addressing delays and disruptions. Maintain routing guides and transportation standard operating procedures for all international trade lanes. Participate in carrier and freight forwarder relationships, contract negotiations, and ensure service level commitments are met. Trade Compliance & Customs Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, import requirements, and trade agreements (e.g., HTS classification, country of origin). Partner with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate filing of entry documents, ISF filings, and duty payment. Stay current on evolving tariff landscape, Section 301 duties, and trade policy changes impacting the company's sourcing regions. Cost Management & Performance Analytics Assist in managing international freight budgets; identify and execute cost reduction initiatives through carrier negotiation, mode optimization, and lane consolidation. Maintain KPI dashboards tracking freight cost per unit, on-time performance, transit times, and carrier scorecards. Analyze freight spend data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Prepare regular reporting for leadership on international freight performance, spend, and key initiatives. Supplier & Vendor Coordination Collaborate with Sourcing, Merchandising, and Planning teams to align shipment schedules with product launch timelines and inventory needs. Coordinate booking processes with overseas suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure compliance with booking windows and shipping instructions. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), drayage carriers, and port agents. Systems & Process Improvement Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and visibility platforms to drive operational efficiency and real-time shipment tracking. Support integration projects with logistics technology partners (e.g., Shipium or similar platforms). Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy, and enhance supply chain visibility. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all international logistics processes. Small Parcel & FedEx Program Management Serve as the primary owner of the FedEx small parcel program, managing the day-to-day carrier relationship, service level agreements, and contract performance across all domestic and international small parcel lanes. Oversee Shipium integration with FedEx to optimize carrier selection, automate rate shopping, and ensure accurate label generation and shipment routing across all small parcel flows. Monitor FedEx performance metrics including on-time delivery, transit time adherence, claims rates, and invoice accuracy; conduct regular business reviews and hold the carrier accountable to agreed SLAs. Analyze small parcel spend and dimensional weight data to identify cost reduction opportunities, including zone skipping, packaging optimization, and service level right-sizing. Manage FedEx claims processes for lost, damaged, or delayed shipments, partnering with Customer Service and the DC team to resolve issues quickly and minimize customer impact. Evaluate and benchmark the FedEx program against alternative small parcel carriers to ensure Serena & Lily maintains best-in-class rates and service for e-commerce and retail fulfillment. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field required. 5–8 years of progressive experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or global supply chain operations. Demonstrated experience managing ocean freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, and customs brokerage operations. Experience in a retail, e-commerce, or home furnishings environment strongly preferred.
