Our goal is to empower our customers to realize their vision.We are looking for a Area Sales Manager to cover the Midwest region of our North America territory. This role plans, manages, and coordinates activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of HKP. This role facilitates the development of new market strategies including discovering new product platform profiles, finding new business opportunities, maintaining existing accounts, and advising/guiding the business in the most effective use of resources for the purpose of serving our customers and meeting the territory's growth goals. Territory covers Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Ontario, Canada. What you will do:Manage all aspects of the sales process for the accounts located in the territory as defined by leadership either geographically or by company. Included in this are the following tasks:Qualify customersGenerate sales opportunitiesQualify opportunitiesGather the engineering data required to identify the solution required to satisfy the customer’s needRecommend engineering solutions to customersDevelop a strategy for winning identified opportunitiesFollow up on quotesSecure purchase ordersManage customer expectationsEffectively communicate the wants and needs of customers to the inside sales personnel and company management through established channelsManage customer relations for the accounts located in the territory defined by leadership either geographically or by company. Included in this are the following tasks:Liaison with manufacturing and the customer to ensure that delivery changes are handled professionally and with the least amount of discomfort for the customer as dictated by the needs of the companyLiaison with quality assurance and the customer to ensure that quality issues are handled professionally and expeditiously to the satisfaction of the customerLiaison with engineering and the customer when solving technical problems at the customerLiaison with engineering and the customer on the development of prototype partsLiaison with engineering and the customer when scheduling the delivery of prototype partsManage any other interaction between the company and the customer heretofore unmentionedWork with local reps and rep firms (if present) to facilitate the sales processWork with advertising and market implementation plans set forth by the company, which includes but is not limited to the following activities:Lead generationLead QualificationLead Follow-upTrade show participationProvide written reports back to the company on all customer contacts or developments of significanceProvide quarterly business reviews for their territory in the format specified by the sales managerParticipate in the company’s annual sales forecast for the following fiscal yearFollow all company policies regarding personal behavior in the workplaceFollow company standards and proceduresFollow all company safety regulationsWork under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager or Designee with a minimum amount of supervisionOther assigned duties as requiredWe are looking for:Must live in the assigned territoryBachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a technical or related field from an accredited educational institutionAt least 3 years direct sales experiences; and/or combination of education and experienceKnowledge of the operating principles and application of BLDC, brushed, and stepper motors, motor drives, lead screws, and linear actuators as well general engineering concepts of linear and rotary motion and power transferFamiliar with the use of Windows based PC’s and programs (MS Office suite of programs mandatory)Must be fluent (spoken & written) in English and the predominate language of the assigned territoryGood verbal and written communication skills; must demonstrate excellent internal and external communication skills and have a strong service mindsetMust be able to work well within a team or independently, as well as demonstrate initiative and a drive for resultsAdditional Characteristics:Excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent working knowledge of engineering and sales principlesWilling to work outside and beyond standard office hours (8:00AM – 5:00PM Mon-Fri) when the situation warrantsWilling to travel frequently with overnight stays as the needs of the customers in the territory dictateStrong business and work ethicOriginally posted on Himalayas
