Shermco Canada continues to expand its footprint by delivering reliable, high-quality solutions that support critical electrical infrastructure and evolving energy needs.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Field Service Manager for our Electrical Services Group to lead the coordination and execution of electrical testing, maintenance, and field service activities across British Columbia.Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, this role is focused on efficient field execution, workforce coordination, and service delivery quality across a broad range of electrical services (excluding specialized protection & control work). The successful candidate is a strong operational leader with a background in field service execution and team supervision.ResponsibilitiesField Operations ExecutionOversee daily delivery of acceptance testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection servicesCoordinate technician schedules, dispatch, and site assignmentsEnsure work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standardsMonitor field productivity, utilization, and job completion progressWorkforce CoordinationLead assigned teams of electrical technicians, testing personnel, and field leadsManage day-to-day staffing alignment to meet project and service demandsProvide direction and support to field teams to maintain consistent execution qualityAssist with onboarding and field readiness of new hiresService Quality & ConsistencyEnsure consistency in testing procedures, documentation, and reporting qualityReview job packages and field reports for completeness and complianceReinforce standardized work practices across job sitesAddress field execution issues and implement corrective actionsSafety & CompliancePromote a strong safety culture aligned with WorkSafeBC regulations and company policiesEnsure adherence to:Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)CSA standardsSupport toolbox talks, site safety checks, and incident response activitiesEnsure compliance with provincial employment standards as related to field staffCustomer Service & Field SupportSupport client interactions related to field service deliveryAddress service issues, jobsite concerns, and schedule changesEnsure customer expectations are met through reliable and professional serviceCoordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless job executionScheduling & Resource PlanningMaintain short-term scheduling plans for field service workTrack active work orders, backlog, and technician availabilityIdentify scheduling conflicts or capacity gaps and escalate as neededCoordinate with internal stakeholders to align field resources with workloadQualificationsEducation & ExperienceDiploma or degree in Electrical Technology, Engineering, or related field (preferred)8+ years of experience in electrical field services or industrial maintenanceExperience supervising or coordinating field-based teamsBackground in electrical testing, commissioning, or maintenance servicesTechnical KnowledgeFamiliarity with:Electrical testing and maintenance practicesLow, medium, and high-voltage systemsWorking knowledge of:CEC and CSA standardsField service workflows and jobsite operationsSkillsStrong coordination, scheduling, and organizational skillsPractical problem-solving in fast-paced field environmentsEffective team leadership and communication skillsExecution-focused with attention to safety and qualityOther RequirementsAbility to travel up to 50% within British ColumbiaValid driver’s licenseAbility to meet site and safety compliance requirementsEqual Opportunity EmployerShermco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
