Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.Meet the TeamJoin our SW Systems and Safety - Behaviors & Autonomy Team, where we build the data and software infrastructure that powers autonomy system evaluation and decision-making.We are seeking a Senior Autonomy Software Systems Engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment building data pipelines, processing large datasets, and developing tools that directly impact how autonomous systems are evaluated and improved.This role is focused on execution — writing production-quality Python (and some C++) code, working with cloud-based data, and building systems that enable large-scale analysis of autonomy data across mapping, simulation, and real-world environments.What You’ll Be DoingBuild and maintain Python-based data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze large-scale autonomy datasetsDevelop tools to extract and manipulate data from cloud-based storage systems (AWS, GCP, etc.)Work with HD/SD map data, vehicle telemetry, and simulation outputs to support autonomy workflowsWrite performant and scalable code for data processing, transformation, and analysisCollaborate with systems, mapping, and AI/ML teams to support data-driven decision makingDevelop scripts and tools to support scenario generation, ODD analysis, and validation workflowsOptimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliabilityContribute to system-level debugging by analyzing data and identifying root causes of issuesSupport integration of data pipelines into broader autonomy and validation systemsWhat You’ll Need to SucceedBS + 6+ years, MS + 3+ years, or PhD + 1+ years in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or related fieldStrong proficiency in Python for production-level developmentExperience working with large-scale datasets and data processing systemsExperience with cloud environments and distributed data systems (AWS, GCP, Azure)Familiarity with SD/HD maps, geospatial data, or spatial data processingExperience writing clean, maintainable, and scalable codeStrong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex systemsExperience working in cross-functional engineering environmentsBonus PointsExperience with C++ in production systemsExperience working with autonomy, robotics, or mapping systemsExperience with data pipelines, ETL systems, or ML data workflowsExposure to ROS/ROS2 or similar robotics frameworksExperience with containerization (Docker) and distributed compute systemsPerks of Being a Full-time Torc’rTorc cares about our team members and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
