About the Role Trade is seeking a strategic, creative, and hands-on Director of Brand Marketing to lead how Trade shows up in the world — across organic content, social media, and earned press. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll own the brand's voice, storytelling, and community presence, while partnering closely with Growth, Product, and Creative to drive awareness, engagement, and deep affinity for Trade. This is a leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable setting the vision and rolling up their sleeves to execute. What You’ll Do Organic Content Strategy & Execution Own Trade's organic content strategy — setting the vision for how we show up across channels, defining content priorities, and building and optimizing the content calendar Co-own LLM & SEO optimization strategy with the Growth team, leading organic content efforts (blog, website copy, landing pages) that improve search visibility and drive qualified traffic Develop and maintain Trade's editorial voice and tone, ensuring consistency across all content outputs — from social captions and roaster features to program descriptions and seasonal campaigns Personally contribute to content creation across formats: written copy, video scripts, photo art direction, and short-form social content — balancing content leadership with hands-on execution Partner with the in-house creative team and external production partners to brief, develop, and deliver high-quality content assets that support campaigns, product launches, and key brand moments Build content feedback loops — tracking performance, surfacing insights, and continuously optimizing the content mix to drive engagement and brand affinity Social Media Own Trade's social media strategy and presence across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit and beyond — setting the vision, managing the content calendar, and driving growth in reach, engagement, and community Manage and develop social content contractors to ensure steady creation of on-brand content Lead by doing — writing captions, reviewing posts, and contributing to shoots and production as needed Define social KPIs, build reporting frameworks, and consistently share performance with leadership — identifying what's working and where to optimize Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm shifts, and emerging formats to keep Trade culturally relevant and competitive Own community management across owned and third-party channels — setting the standard for how Trade engages with its audience, responding to comments and conversations, and creating moments that deepen loyalty and word-of-mouth PR & Communications Lead Trade's PR strategy — identifying earned media opportunities and story angles in partnership with our PR consultant to drive consistent coverage Partner with the Growth team on affiliate programs, brand collaborations, and sponsorships, ensuring activations align with brand strategy and are amplified across owned and earned channels Manage event activations that reinforce Trade's positioning as the destination for specialty coffee at home What We're Looking For 6+ years of experience in brand marketing, content, or editorial roles — ideally at consumer-facing or DTC brands Proven track record leading organic content and social strategy with measurable results Experience managing and developing creative team members or content contributors Strong writing chops and the ability to develop and protect a brand voice across contexts Experience with PR strategy and media relations, with an existing network of press contacts a plus Familiarity with SEO content strategy and how organic efforts tie into broader growth goals Experience in startup or high-growth environments Familiarity with subscription businesses or marketplace brands is a plus Who You Are A brand storyteller with a strong editorial instinct and a genuine love for building community around a product people care about A strategic leader who can set the vision and get into the details — comfortable owning big-picture direction and hands-on execution in equal measure Someone who's led and grown small teams, and knows how to develop creative talent Analytical enough to build reporting f
