Senior Electrical Engineer/Department Manager Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Office RT Patterson has an immediate opening in our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office for a full-time electrical engineer to design and implement heavy industrial facility electrical systems. To do well in this role we would prefer that you are a licensed professional engineer and have extensive experience as an electrical engineer conforming to the following responsibilities and requirements. Electrical Engineer Responsibilities: Designing, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for heavy industrial facilities. Experience working in heavy industrial facilities and performing field investigations and assessments. Ability to complete low & medium voltage power systems, instrumentation, and controls designs. Working knowledge of Power System analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM. Protective Device Relay configuration/programming experience is a plus. Performing a wide range of engineering tasks via computer-assisted design or other engineering software and equipment. Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects. Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, and technical drawings. Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations. Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities. Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies. Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials. Supervising or training project team members. Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation. Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products. Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time. Define customer needs and requirements. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes. Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgets. Electrical Engineer Requirements: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited school. 5-8 years relevant work experience, including internship or cooperative program experience. Licensed as a professional engineer. PE Required Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and IEEE standards. Proficient in design and calculation software. Proven expertise as an electrical engineer. Problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Other: Hybrid work schedule available - 3 days in office / 2 days wfh Benefits, 401k match and PTO provided A parking pass will be provided. Will consider Electrical Engineers with EIT who are on track to get PE at a lower salary range
