This role may be remote or hybrid. At LinkedIn, hybrid roles are performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. Remote roles are performed from the designated home work location upon time of hire, and any changes to this home work location requires a review of remote status and approval. The Trust organization is seeking a Principal Staff Software Engineer who is an expert in adversarial abuse to provide technical leadership for the Anti-Abuse Engineering team. The mission of the Anti-Abuse team is to build trust in every interaction on LinkedIn. The team uses a wide suite of state-of-the-art techniques to identify patterns in large-scale attacks and prevent and mitigate abuse proactively. Through their deep domain expertise and technical judgment, this engineering leader will be responsible for leading the effort of building systems that can stay ahead of attackers in an adversarial space. Responsibilities: Lead a team to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for the most complex problems to keep members safe on the platform Predict future abuse patterns and ensure the systems the organization prioritizes and builds today can fight the abuse we will see tomorrow Drive technical design and architecture across the Trust organization  Align on product and technology strategy related to Trust issues  across functions and organizations across LinkedIn Champion a culture of engineering excellence and AI‑native development through hands-on leadership and mentorship of emerging engineering leaders. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience 7+ years of industry experience. 5+ years in an architect or technical leadership position Professional software engineering experience in adversarial abuse including account security, fake accounts, and/or scraping Preferred Qualifications: 12+ years of experience in software engineering 7+ years in an architect or technical leadership position MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical or quantitative discipline. The pay range for this role is $209,000 - $343,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
