Position: HRBP - Associate (Based in Express Towers, Mumbai) Description: The HRBP- Associate will be responsible for delivering proactive and high-quality operational HR support to Jefferies India. The candidate will support the overall Jefferies India HR Head in providing a variety of HR services to the business. The HR Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor and will provide support to the business across the full range of HR disciplines such as recruitment including campus recruitment support, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, regulatory reporting and audit requirements, employee relations, talent development and employee engagement. Primary Responsibilities: The HRBP Associate will report to the Jefferies India HR Head. Responsibilities include the following across JIPL (India front office) and JISPL (Mumbai Services entity) : Act as the primary HR Business Partner across various parts of the organization offering mentorship coordination, career development support, and serving as their main point of HR contact. Provide operational support to the India HR team across cyclical and ad hoc HR processes, including performance management, promotions, compensation, and talent development. Respond to employee and manager inquiries with accurate, timely, and thorough guidance on topics such as policies, immigration and employment verifications. Support the recruitment and campus teams to hire top talent, compensation proposals in line with market, head count approval management and support campus on the ground with Superday activities etc. Maintain data integrity by ensuring HR systems are updated accurately and promptly. Generate and manage HR analytics reports covering headcount, hiring, terminations, recruiting metrics, and other key data points. Support the onboarding and offboarding process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations. Proactively support HR regulatory filings plus audits and collaborate with various teams to maintain compliance with local regulatory requirements Foster cultural engagement by helping organize team-building events and volunteer initiatives to strengthen cross-team connectivity. Conduct new hire check-ins to facilitate integration, address challenges, and gather feedback on the employee experience. Help drive the year-end promotions process by managing timelines, tracking global nominations, compiling year-over-year statistics, and overseeing communications. Manage employee relations cases as required in partnership with HR management and employment legal counsel. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, escalating issues as needed based on day-to-day transactional insights. Desired Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degrees in human resources, psychology, or related fields preferred. 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in a HR Business partnership role in matrixed global organization in Financial services. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong Excel skills required (must be fluent in formulas such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, MIN, MAX, AVERAGE). Comfortable learning and navigating systems; prior experience with HRIS is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Precise attention to detail and strong process orientation and project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills with a client service mindset. Positive attitude with a desire to learn and grow. Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism and assertiveness with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Collaborative team player who takes initiative and proactively contributes ideas and recommendations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment.
