Legal Counsel – Americas
Location: Hybrid across multiple U.S. office locations (2–3 days onsite)
A global professional services firm is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its growing Americas business. This is an opportunity to join a mission driven international organization experiencing significant expansion across North, Central, and South America. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders in Finance, Commercial, and M&A and will play a key role in enabling strategic growth while managing regional legal risk. The role offers autonomy, high visibility, and meaningful influence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
○ Client and vendor agreements
○ Confidentiality and data protection agreements
○ Engagement letters and purchasing agreements
• Support bids and tenders and maintain updated contract templates
• Advise on corporate governance topics, including board and shareholder resolutions
• Assist with reorganizations and integrations, including mergers and asset transfers
• Support M&A activity, including due diligence and post acquisition documentation
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and contribute to compliance policies and training
• Manage external counsel and oversee litigation reporting
• Support IP related matters, including trademark filings
• Partner with HR on employment related topics
Candidate Profile
• 5 - 10 years experience gained at a top law firm's corporate practice and preferably in-house
• Strong corporate and M&A experience required
• Able to manage a fully independent workload
• Solid background in commercial contracts and corporate law
• Familiarity with U.S. legal frameworks; international exposure is advantageous
• Able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities
• Pragmatic, commercially focused, and solutions oriented
• Strong communication skills with an ability to build trusted relationships
• Spanish or another additional language is a plus
Compensation
Base salary ranges from $140k to $195k
Hybrid Working
The role can be based in any of the following U.S. states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia
